Dyscalculia Assessment

A Dyscalculia Assessment consists of a number of appointments specifically set up to suit the needs of the person being assessed.

The initial appointment is to meet you and to obtain relevant background information. The appointment is for approximately one hour and includes questionnaires to be completed to capture background information on the person being assessed. A review of school reports and any other relevant reports in addition to formal cognitive testing.

The second appointment is the assessment, this appointment can be between 2-3 hours depending on the needs of the person being assessed. This consists of an intellectual assessment as well as specific testing focussed on working memory, general ability to learn and recall information and core mathematic skills.   If during this process other areas of concern (such as attention or memory) are identified a more comprehensive neuropsychological assessment or ADHD assessment may be recommended.

The final appointment is to give results of the assessment and a full written report of findings. We allow approximately one hour for this appointment. Please note 4-5 weeks is required for the preparation of the assessment report.

Please note that appointments made for assessments are subject to change and we may ask for your assistance in the event that we need to reschedule the appointments.
