She trained as a specialist at London, Cambridge and Manchester in United Kingdom (UK), followed by a period in Hunter New England, NSW. She worked as a Consultant Paediatrician in the UK before moving to Australia and at John Hunter Children’s Hospital, Newcastle.

Dr Sankar has substantial experience managing a broad range of general paediatric conditions (ages 0 – 18).  She also has specific interests and experience in managing childhood neurodevelopmental disorders such as ADHD and Autism, behaviour and sleep difficulties, eating disorders and failure to thrive as well as other general paediatric conditions.

Dr Sankar is available at The LifeWise Centre Maitland Clinic only.

To request an initial appointment please:

1. Ask your GP to send through a referral addressed to Dr Sankar outlining the reasons for the appointment, listing the current medical situation and any previous diagnoses.

2. The above referral is received and reviewed by Dr Sankar who will then advise whether she is able to see you.

3. Our support staff will notify you upon receipt of your referral and subsequently, about whether we are able to proceed with an appointment.

Please note that Dr Sankar has a long wait-time for new patients. There are also times when she isn’t able to see new patients due to heavy workloads.

3. Dr Sankar is heavily booked for several months, if you cancel your appointment there may be a long wait for another available appointment.
